Born and raised on this picturesque island paradise, I have a vast knowledge of it's history and early beginnings.
I possess an intimate knowledge of the island's hidden gems, from secluded shorelines to the vibrant underwater world that surrounds Bonaire's shores.

My entire working life was spent working in the early years of Scuba diving on Bonaire. I am recognized as one of the early pioneers of Bonaire's diving industry and I am intimately connected to the sea.

I am also a connoisseur of local flavors. Whether savoring the catch of the day or indulging in the mouthwatering blend of spices in a traditional Krioyo dish, you too can appreciate the island's gastronomic treasures.

I understand the importance of preserving Bonaire's natural beauty, and actively contribute to the island's sustainable practices and environmental initiatives.

Traditional Island Tour

The Island of Bonaire was discovered in 1499 by Spanish explorers, the first Spanish settlers arrived in 1527, they built Rincon in the North.

Kralendijk was starting to become an important port since the early 1700's. Our architecture is of the early Colonial Dutch styles. Enjoy learning about how local Bonarians lived during the years between 1600 and the 1940's, when the island had very few residents.

Travel through old barrios, view local architecture and a narrative about the daily way of life.
Some original homes still exist, view local barrio shops and discover neighborhood culture.
Explore the building techniques and how they have changed over the years.

Bonaire, Back Roads and Culture

Enjoy a 4 hour walking visit to Kralendijk, view our historic buildings and get a feel for daily life on Bonaire.

Originally chosen as the islands harbor port in 1639, Kralendijk is a bustling central area.
It became the official capital of the island in 1830. View local building styles and colors, where government, business and community come together.
Today the town of Kralendijk is a merger of five of the original villages: Antriol, Nikiboko, Noord Saliña, Playa, and Tera Kora.
Spend your time learning about the historic buildings and the history of Bonaire.
A local lunch stop is included with food options, local food to international fare.
This tour is best done during the morning hours before the heat of the late afternoon.
