For that reason I only offer tours that I am excited about myself. EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS In 2015 I started doing tours for ToursByLocals but I work in tourism more than 20 years. I have several degrees in Tourism and I am one of the few guides in the Netherlands officially qualified 'With Honor' for the only valid diploma 'National Guide'. Besides tours in The Netherlands, I organise travel all over the world for the Dutch market. Therefore I know what a traveller, or a travel agent, wants from a guide. For the groups that I send to the different destinations, I only want to work with reliable and professional local guides, who will do their upmost to make my groups happy. So I treat my guests the same way as I want my guests to be treated abroad. THE VEHICLE I am one of the few guides in The Netherlands with a vehicle that is officially registered for commercial use. This all means that your guide, the vehicle and its passengers meet all mandatory requirements concerning quality and insurances. In the Netherlands, if a person pays for transport, or the transport is part of a tour, this transport is covered by the law 'Wet personenvervoer 2000' (Passenger Transport act 2000) and therefor the vehicle must have a blue license plate (registered for commercial use) and the driver must have a taxi-drivers license. Otherwise the transport is illegal (there are police controls) and the driver and the passengers are not insured. I do all my tours with all necessary licenses and I promise you a spotlessly clean car. CUSTOMIZE YOUR TOUR I would be honoured to have the opportunity to show you the places in the Netherlands that you want to see. Therefore, please tell me what you are interested in and I will propose you a tour. This can be a tour along the highlights of Amsterdam, or a specific interest tour like Dutch art, sport, local culture, the history of Holland, the life of Anne Frank in Amsterdam, the Royal family, Vincent van Gogh, Dutch golden age painters, Jewish heritage in the Netherlands or any other theme. If the tour that you wish, is not really my cup of tea, I will tell you so and I will propose another ToursbyLocal guide that would be perfect for your request. I believe that a guide can only be an added value to your tour, if the guide is at least as excited about that tour as you are. On my page you can find some tour programs but all my tours can be tailormade. We can do the tour by car, walking, public transport or a combination. I can pick you up from any point and bring you back to your hotel, or cruise ship when you are looking for a shore excursion during your cruise.
