Malo Kin! Good Day in the Mayan language :) I am Rich, your private tour guide in the Riviera Maya and Yucatan Peninsula since 1992. Friends say that I know too many people because I am always greeting everyone wherever we go :) I do also know the region very well! like spots where it will be just us, the right times to go to each of our stops, to avoid crowds, and buses, and enjoy the places on our own, which turn our experiences into unforgettable memories! That is also why I try to start most of the tours quite early, but that is what I suggest. When I arrived in the Riviera Maya I fell in love with the area, its beaches, fauna, and flora, and its over 5000 years old culture. I started to work in the only dive shop in exchange for my diving credentials and became a cave Dive-master and worked in diving and snorkeling for about 8 years. It allowed me to spend a lot of time sharing stories and legends with locals and seeing and learning about their beautiful culture. It has been 30 years now and I saw the development of the region, now a lot of the locals I work with are the kids of my friends :) Of course in the beginning, during the low seasons, I used to work with bigger tour companies as a tour guide and take buses to all the main points of interest in the region also took many courses in biology, geology, fauna, and flora by local experts. All the local partners I work with, like van drivers, boat captains, and crews are friends, and family for most, and that makes also the difference as I will be always with you, and you may trust everyone I introduce you to, so also another very important reason why I love guiding is, to support the local communities!
