Hello there! My name is José, and I am a history enthusiast turned full-time tour guide. My passion for exploring historical places began as a hobby, inspired by films like "The Goonies" and Indiana Jones. As an engineer, I am particularly interested in the architecture of ancient cities and how they were able to build such incredible structures that still stand today. My curiosity about history was piqued when I discovered the historical connection between my home state of Veracruz and Mexico City. I decided to move to Mexico City and take history and anthropology classes alongside my engineering degree. During the weekends, I took several courses at the National Anthropology Museum and the University of Mexico (UNAM). I also traveled with anthropologists to various ancient cities like Teotihuacan, Monte Alban, Palenque, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, and more, which led me to specialize in pre-Columbian cultures. I continued my education with courses on post-conquest Mexico, leading me to discover hidden gems like my favorites, the Ex-Monastery Desierto de los Leones and the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Cerro Pelón. Inspired by a friend's suggestion, I made the decision to turn my passion into a full-time profession and became a tour guide. I haven't looked back since.
