Hi, I'm Sonoko, currently living in Tokyo. I started guiding in 2019. So far, I've guided my guests not only to major destinations but also to minor ones like a flight simulation center, Dragon Warrior café, an inside tour of a National Parliament Building, and so on, based on my guest's interests or requests. What brought me to this field was the three-month solo trip to Europe and Morocco in 2012. Communicating with the locals and exploring an unknown city is usually very exciting. But it was sometimes a bit difficult for me, especially in non-English speaking countries. So when I was in Morocco, a Muslim country, I decided to hire a licensed guide to stroll around the famous night market in Fez. The market was like a maze, and each product had no price tag. Arabic or French were required to negotiate the price for buying something. I could use neither language. But thanks to the guide's tremendous assistance, I could buy the necessary items and visit a local café in fashion and a casual restaurant smoothly. Collecting information about other countries with the internet has become much easier. But most of the latest and seasonal information is often only available in local languages. Why don't you hire a private guide like me to deepen your experience and have a more comfortable journey? About me I was born and grew up in Fukuoka, two hours flight from Tokyo. I took a one-year exchange program at the University of Pittsburgh in the US when I was a university student. After graduating, I moved to Kanagawa, near Tokyo, to work for a foreign-invested electronic parts manufacturing and sales company as a member of the HR and Internal public relations department. After leaving this company, I began traveling alone in Europe and Morocco for three months. After returning home, I focused on raising two sons for a while, now 8 and 5 years old. So I'm used to dealing with kids' guests, too. I've lived in the Kanto region (Kanagawa→Chiba→Tokyo) for more than 15 years. I once worked for a private museum in Shinjuku, which exhibits authentic armors, swords, and other items related to Samurai warriors' history and culture. So it is one of the fields that I am good at guiding. I'm sure I can provide you with one of the best travels full of passion, knowledge, and hospitality!! National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (English) Cert. No. EN04744 Certified General Travel Services Manager Certified Itinerary Control Manager A member of the Japan Federation of Certified Guides (JFG) Tokyo City Guide I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver.
