Hello! I am Sonoe! I have lived in Tokyo for 20 years and often visit Yamanaka-lake near Mt. Fuji with my family for a vacation. I am a mother of two daughters, 19 and 16, who likes to travel, shop, eat, drink, talk, and have fun! I have been guiding over 300 groups of guests from all over the world since 2015. Speaking of myself, I lived in the United States for two years; one year in California (1999-2000) and another year in New Jersey (2004-2005). I volunteered as a teaching assistant at a local elementary school in California to convey Japanese culture to American children. It was a life-changing experience and triggered me to become a tour guide! I am a certified Japanese Sake Sommelier. I have tasted more than 100 kinds and have visited many Sake breweries to learn more about Sake. Sake is not only tasty but is deeply related to the culture and religion of Japan. I believe that introducing Sake to the world is one of my missions. Not only food and beverages, but I can also introduce Contemporary Arts, Fashion, Traditional Arts and Crafts, Kimono, Kabuki, Architecture, Manga, Stationaries, Sweets, and more. I also arrange cultural experiences, such as trying on Kimono, making Washi (traditional Japanese paper), a Tea Ceremony, Taiko Drums, Indigo Dyeing, and making your cutting glass (and more!), at your request.
