Tour guide in Kyoto Eco H.

We only have one profile, but we are two guides! Eco and Saki working together to give you the best Japan travel experience possible! Eco has called Kyoto his home for the last 7 years, and now he hopes to share with you all he has learned of this wonderful city and the surrounding area. Currently he is a PhD candidate with a background in Japanese history and religion. Therefore, if you are particularly interested in learning more about the history and culture of Kyoto he can provide exciting narratives to go along with visiting the delightful sites. Throughout his time in Kyoto he has been working as a guide for numerous organisations, including guiding around Japanese tourists visiting Kyoto, and has provided many with a unique view of the city. During our tours we will also be accompanied by Saki, a born and raised Kyoto native. Together we can provide a great mix of knowledge and experience. Saki will provide the backgrounds on Japanese culture from the eyes of someone born into it. Saki is also an experienced guide who has been working as a tour guide for 6 years, having done many tours throughout the city. Including a focus on food and drink. She's also well versed in popular culture, so if you have any interest in animation, music, video games or manga she would be happy to discuss with you. Eco is currently a PhD candidate in Contemporary Asian Studies at Doshisha University in the thesis defence phase expected to graduate in March 2024, as well as a graduate from the Edwin O. Reischauer Institute of Japanese Studies at Harvard University via an exchange program with Doshisha. He also has a Japanese drivers license and is able to support your transportation needs. When not giving tours for foreign tourists, Eco guides around local Japanese students for the Kyoto Prefectural Board of Education, as well as numerous other schools around Japan, including among many others Kagoshima Gyokuryu High School; Suginami High School in Tokyo; Osaka Toin Junior High School; Sakae Higashi Junior High School in Saitama and Fukuoka Prefectural Ogori High School. Saki is also a PhD candidate at Doshisha and has completed the same Harvard exchange program. None
