Hi! I'm Kumi, a tour guide and an interpreter living in Mie Prefecture, about 1 hour away from Nagoya and 2. 5 hours away from Kyoto/ Osaka by train. As I had a chance to live in Singapore, a country that accepts diversity, I would say I'm relatively cosmopolitan as a Japanese. . . That's why I am in this business! I love meeting people worldwide (that's you!), and I am passionate about introducing you to my country too. My interests are enjoying good food, jogging and swimming (to burn all the calories out after eating too much! I participate in full-marathon and 5km open water swim races, though I am very slow). Let me also add that I am a Buddhist priest's wife despite my alma mater. I hope to use my limited knowledge of Japanese Buddhism while I accompany you here in Mie. I was living in the Tokyo area until April 2012 and gave tours in the city. From then onwards, I have been guiding mainly in and around Mie Prefecture to go back home every evening to look after my young kids.
