My name is Idania and I have lived in Siena for over 14 years. I moved to Siena when I got married. I live in the beautiful Tuscan countryside, surrounded by wildlife and nature, and get to see stunning sunflowers every year. I was born in Mexico, and lived in five different states, because of my father's job, as we moved a lot. I graduated in Commerce and learned English when I went to the University. Then I got a job in a Transnational Company and started living in Guadalajara, Mexico. This is when I had the chance to travel to Europe and became even more passionate about art and architecture. I loved attending international cooking lessons because I love food from all around the world. One of those, was obviously Italian. I met my husband in Mexico, who is Irish, and whose family has lived in Siena for a long time. Therefore, I started travelling to Italy and sometime after I moved here and as soon as I could, I learned Italian in the "Universita per Stranieri" and enjoyed learning also about the traditions of my new city. I decided to become a Tour Guide because I wanted to show to the world, how stunning and interesting Siena is. After two years I received my certification as Tour Guide and started doing tours in English and Spanish. I have attended Italian cooking and pastry lessons because I think food is essential to learn about the place. And, because I love cooking and baking for my loved ones. I have always been curious about art, history, people, traditions, wine and food. In my free time, I like reading about history and biographies. I also love visiting small towns, in the surroundings of Siena, and enjoy finding small art galleries, because in those places you can find hidden treasures. And the small churches, buildings and the people of these towns tell you stories, books never will. Please let me show you my city, and tell you about life in this magical place.
