Hello everybody, my name is Chiara and I am pleased to welcome you to Lake Garda and to its stunning surroundings. I was born and raised in Desenzano del Garda, a beautiful village at the southern shores of Italy's largest lake, Lake Garda. After finishing high school, I moved to Germany, where I studied literature and international studies at the University of Cologne. I graduated with a thesis focused on Scandinavian mythology. Following my studies, I decided to move to Stockholm, Sweden, where I lived for about 12 years, working as a local guide for German-, Italian- and English speaker guests. In 2018 I finally moved back to Italy, and I started working as an official guide in Rome and in the Vatican City. I have always loved showing the tourists the cities I was living in, but during the forced stop caused by the pandemic, I realized that there was something missing in my professional life. The answer was simple: I did not longer want to be the kind of tour guide showing the tourists someone else's city and traditions. I wanted to move back home and have the chance to become a REAL local guide, making my visitors deeply experience the places I know since I was born. And, finally, here I am! What makes Lake Garda district such an unmissable destination? As a real "gardesan", I can tell you that Lake Garda is more than a common lake district. Surrounded by high mountains in the north and gentle hills in the south, Lake Garda is a never-ending surprise area where you can basically find everything you could look for. Stunning landscapes, charming villages, archeological areas, lovely red and white wines, tasty local food, clean water and last, but not least, you are always a few km away from two of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Northern Italy: Verona and Brescia. My goal is to make you experience Lake Garda district through the eyes of a "gardesan kid", making you forget to be a guest and letting you feel like a real local. See you soon at Lake Garda!
