Guide #57045
I was born and raised in Atrani, the smallest village of the Amalfi Coast (and Italy). Since the age of 3, I went hiking with my parents to our chestnut forest in the mountains above Amalfi, or we spent time in our gardens on the cliff edge above the sea. Since my childhood, I have developed a very deep bond with my Motherland, nourished more and more from a big curiosity about all the secret historic facts and locations of my coast. Hiking in the mountains has always made me the happiest guy on the planet. And I found in Nature the place where I could fully express my adventurous soul. So this is how I spent my teenage years, exploring the trails of the Amalfi Coast with my hiking map, and then joining the local hiking group. Meanwhile, my parents took me all over Italy, from skiing in breathtaking slopes in the Dolomites, to tasting the best "granite" (slushes) in Sicily, below Mount Etna. During high school, I took part in many studying holidays to improve my language skills: Dijon (France), Oxford (UK), Cologne and Berlin (Germany). I was so enthusiastic to explore Europe. Before continuing my studies in Tourism and Territory at the university in Milan, I have spent some amazing years working at the Front of the House for the Hilton properties, in Rome and London. My past experiences in the Hospitality industry have been fundamental to the tour guide I am today, and to the quality of service I give to my travellers. Throughout those years, while living outside of the coast, my lifetime dream of becoming a tour guide was getting bigger and bigger: I decided to finally start in 2017. And it has been a turning point in my life. I have started leading hiking tours on the coastal trails, from the Path of the Gods to the Valley of the Paper Mills, and the hundred more trails we have here. In the last few years I have decided to grow professionally, thus becoming also a tour leader along the whole coast and Capri. When we are going to meet, I am going to tell you everything about how it is to live along this heavenly (but yet uncomfortable) coast. Sometimes I am surprised with myself to have decided to come back to live here, after living in a big city for so long, getting used to a much more comfortable lifestyle. I know why I did come back: my job, which I would not trade for any other office job in the world. Leading tours professionally is the concretion of most of my passions and interests mixed together. The places where I take my travellers are like a big open-air home to me. I have a special connection (and countless memories) with each one of the places. What I really love about being a tour guide is the opportunity to meet amazing people, having the time to create connections while I lead the tours and we get to know each other more, even if for few hours. If there is something I have learned, while traveling and working, is that the best memories in somebody's vacations are, most of the times, good human interactions. The people. Here is also the reason why I am on ToursByLocals. I think I have said enough about myself for now. When we are are going to meet, during the tours, I am going to tell you the rest.
