First of all thank you for checking my profile! I would love to share my passion for Ireland with you if you decide to take one of my tours.

I have been guiding for more than ten years and due to my curiosity, I have an extensive, intense, and profound knowledge of Ireland. I use the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi: "Live like you are going to die tomorrow and learn like you are going to live forever". That's how I constantly keep my tours to a 'gold' standard.

I do not regard tourist guiding as work, it's just travelling around my wonderful country with friends, telling stories, singing songs and having fun.

I'm not just a tourist guide, I'm an entertainer, a historian and an author.

Your day will 'fly by' as you hear stories of Stone Age farmers, St Patrick, The Children of Lir, Rebellion against the British, the Great Famine, the Wild Atlantic Way and why we drive on the 'correct' side of the road. Maybe you might also want to hear about Brexit! Whether it's history, legends or politics I can bring them all alive for you.

Of course the most magical thing about Ireland is the magnificent scenery. The landscapes and seascapes are constantly changing on tour and there will be lots of photo-stops along the way. If you want great photos, I will show you where the best shots can be taken.

While I have a number of tour options listed, they are not 'set in stone' If you have an item or area of special interest I can plan that for you to ensure that the tour SUITS YOUR NEEDS.

Our national poet W. B. Yeats once said, 'Education is not the filling of a bucket, it's the lighting of a fire'. I hope that I can 'light a fire' for Ireland in your hearts that will make you want to return again and again.

Achill Island was one of the main locations for the filming of The Banshees of Inisherin, winner of 3 golden globe awards! Let me show you some of the sites.

The Island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, so no need to travel by boat. However, you will encounter spectacular sea cliffs, beautiful beaches and vacant villages with their ruined houses. You will experience the mystery and majesty of nature. The scenery on this tour is spectacular and you will be amazed at how the locals survived on an island on the edge of Europe.

Stories of rebellion, tragedy and sorrow will help you to understand the Island as it is today. Mountains, valleys and bogs will impress you with their rich colours, ever-changing, as sunshine and cloud create the picturesque landscapes that has drawn famous artists to the island for many years. Irish painter Paul Henry, came in 1910, was so impressed that he tore up his return ticket!

Achill Island Highlights

Discover stunning landscape and explore ancient lands in a luxury vehicle. Cong is home to a 12th century Abbey, exile of the last High King of Irelan, Rory O' Connor.

Walk through Cong woods to the Monks fishing cottage on the edge of Lough Corrib. Did you know that Cong is also the location of The Quiet Man movie starring John Wayne and Maureen O Hara? Discover the breathtaking landscape of Connemara and the majestic Killary Fjord.

Visit Ireland's most romantic building, Kylemore Abbey, from the late 19th century, home of the Benedictine Order of Nuns in Ireland. Optional visit to the Abbey, Neo-Gothic Church, Mausoleum and Victorian Walled Garden.

No visit to Kylemore would be complete without a visit to the Ironing Stone, a magical giant's wishing stone located on the Eastern avenue.

Return to Galway via the Inagh Valley, Oughterard and Moycullen.

Connemara & Cong Tour with Kylemore Abbey

I know every inch of this part of Ireland. I have walked the coastline, climbed the hills and researched the stories. Let me show you the oldest rocks in Ireland, a 5000 year old farm system and spectacular sea cliffs.

This is a truly memorable tour with a great deal of variety. You will visit ruined monasteries, holy wells, a superb sea stack and a boisterous blow hole. It's a whistle stop tour of the history of Ireland from the formation of its rocks more than one billion years ago, through the neolithic farms created 5000 years ago, to Ireland's impact in 1944, on the outcome of the D-Day Landings.

You will have lots of opportunity to take fantastic photographs en-route that will fascinate your friends and family back home. As usual I will tell you lots of stories, to keep you entertained en-route.
