I have lived in Hong Kong for 30 years, I arrived as a young British soldier in the '80s and never left. Your private tour with a genuine Hong Konger starts here! I offer fun and immersive tours and will give you a unique insight into life in Hong Kong based on my personal experiences as a soldier, sportsman, father and businessman including 30 years in HK (I'm 49 years old) having come to HK with the British Army and never leaving. I worked with Wembley International when we managed HK Stadium and oversaw the Rugby Sevens and Manchester United. I am the Chairman of HKs biggest amateur football (soccer) league and sit on the board of a 3-hectare sports facility (the former British Military Hospital site) in the middle of Kowloon. I have two teenage Eurasian daughters (aged 18 and 15) who are currently in High School in HK (studying UK Curriculum "A" Levels, I've served on the PTA for the last 4 years). I owned an Indian Restaurant (with several others) and worked as a Senior Manager with G4S (Gurkha Division), with a British Company (SBFI) that designed, manufactured and installed their product in more than 60% of investment banks in HK and the Asia Pacific over a six-year period, and worked for over a decade with a logistics company in a finance role (for all of these jobs, I never had a formal interview. . . ) and am happy to share all of these experiences with you. We'll cover history from before the opium wars to present day and everything in between, colonial rule, WWII, housing, economy, raising a family in HK, running a business, tax, "politics", sport, horse racing, religion, HKID card system/Immigration, education, private clubs (a current hot topic) role of the British Army and much, much more. For food, we can have dim sum, noodles, roasted meats, seafood, have milk tea and French toast at a cha chaan teng, eat from Dai Pai Dongs and even try snake soup. I can cook Cantonese (and many other styles) food in my home, take guests for lunch or dinner overlooking the pitch at Kowloon Cricket Club or go for a curry in Chung King Mansions. Some guests yearn for a ham and cheese sandwich and a coffee, whatever your tastes we'll fit them in nicely. I have several years of experience as a tour guide with over a hundred tours and a deep knowledge of Hong Kong having lived here for 30 years.
