Here I am, a tour guide with 14 years of experience in Dresden and the surrounding area, ready to share my knowledge and curiosities about the region with you. I have been living in Dresden for many years, I studied and found a family here. Thanks to my education in the history of art and musicology, I am not only an organist of the mighty Dresden cathedral, but also a guide authorized to show around the art collections that are gathered in historical objects in the old city.

Of course, my guidance goes beyond the city, guiding tourists through the beautiful areas of Saxon Switzerland, where there are stunning castles and fortresses, and one of the views has even become the wallpaper of the Microsoft Windows operating system. But in the context of Saxony, whose capital is Dresden, its cradle is always worth mentioning, namely the city of Meissen, for many centuries the center of the region and the seat of the monarchs, and for 300 years the place of producing the first European porcelain, which, by the way, was invented in Dresden.

A visit to Saxony and its capital will be an unforgettable experience for you, and my presence will let you discover its history and beauty with a pinch of humor. Thanks to my modern hybrid minivan Toyota Prius V with seven seats, or my large minivan Toyota Sienna with eight, we will be able to go wherever you want, because many of the highlights in Saxony are scattered throughout the area. But even if you have planned only one day for it, I assure you that we will not miss anything important.

Concerning time and place I am a very flexible guide. Also if you come to Dresden in a larger group, I can customize my offered tours to meet your requirements - particularly because my car is not big enough to take more than seven people, including children.

Some of my guests are very eager to visit Dresden, but they don't always feel like they can reach all the most interesting places on foot. I understand this perfectly - the lack of time, the weather, the season, any kind of disability or simply the mood is not always conducive to hiking. If sometimes you'd like to just sit back and see new places in person, then this tour is intended for you!

See the old city of Dresden with all its famous palaces, royal residences and churches, including the Dresden cathedral and the unforgettable Frauenkirche Protestant church as an example of a large-scale reconstruction of the Old Town after II World War.

Then we want to deal with the oldest square, a place where a very old Christmas market called "Striezel Markt" has been organized for the last 584 years and is visited every year by 2. 5 million guests from all over the world. Imagine how many people it is, considering the fact, that Dresden only has 550 thousands residents!

What about seeing the surrounding districts of Dresden? The opposite bank of the river Elbe is also on my list, in order to see the part of the city, which was not destroyed by the bombing in 1945.

Dresden Highlight Half Day Tour

By visiting Meissen, not far from Dresden, you will learn to know the cradle of Saxon statehood, the place where the electors resided and ruled for centuries. Meissen is famous not only as a center of tin and wine industry, it is also a place where the manufactory of the first European porcelain, invented in Dresden in 1707, was located on the castle hill 300 years ago.

This manufactory is still in Meissen and invites travelers from all over the world not only to visit porcelain collections. It also gives the opportunity to take part in demonstration workshops, where at several stages we learn about the process of creating and decorating porcelain ornaments and vessels.

Moreover it is worth seeing the old city with its town hall, the streets of the artisan district, getting to know the crispy baking, which is only baked here and has a funny story. After an hour of walking, we reach the castle hill, where there is a monumental Gothic temple and the viewpoint of the city and the Elbe river flowing below.
