Guide #48582
Hello! For 13 years it's been a joy to provide my personalised, passionate tours of Toulouse and it would be an honour to be your guide. Originally from England, I moved to Toulouse with my husband in 2003, fell in love with this very special corner of the world and two children later it's become so much more than just 'home'. Then back in 2010, I followed my dream and left a corporate career behind to create a one-woman band sharing my passion for 'all-things Toulouse' with clients on my guided walking tours. It's a privilege and a pleasure to have this vocation and I would be delighted to welcome you to 'La Ville Rose' and to help you have the best possible Toulouse experience during your adventures in South West France. In the 90s I spent two years working in Japan plus a year studying in Hungary. That gave me a thirst for travel and discovering all the beautiful places that this planet has to offer. We're particularly blessed in Toulouse with so many hidden gems around every corner and it's always a delight to reveal Toulouse's secrets. Whether you are searching for a history deep-dive, the best locations for treasured photos, cultural recommendations or special shops for local products, helping you make magical memories is what motivates me. As a true foodie I'll always ensure that you have my top tips for where and how to enjoy Toulouse's fabulous cuisine - from cool little cafés, to the best bakeries, to great gastronomic experiences. Supporting the Toulouse community and its businesses is very important to me and I enjoy recommending my favourite ways to shop local whilst here. I aim to provide a personalised experience to allow you to fully appreciate Toulouse and its DNA. Knowing what I enjoy when on holiday, I try to ensure that clients receive the same level of service I would expect and my home-made light refreshments accompany every single tour, whether it's warming tea in the winter or fresh lemonade in the summer. Children are most welcome on my tours. As a qualified teacher I will ensure that little minds are kept busy during the tour! Bringing up children bilingually and bi-culturally has given me a unique insight into the French way of life and I've had some inspirational exchanges with wonderful clients on that and many other topics! Toulouse is located in the Occitanie region whose culture, heritage and landscape are particularly rich and diverse. I will happy to provide suggestions for wonderful places to include in your itinerary to the region and I also offer tours in Auch - the capital of the Gascony area, known as the Tuscany of France. As I adore walking, talking, listening and meeting people I really do feel that I have the best job in the world and would be absolutely thrilled if you chose to tour Toulouse with me. Happy trip planning, Penny An 'Ambassadeur de Toulouse', an honour awarded by 'Invest in Toulouse' Certificate of Excellence 2013-2020 inclusive on popular global traveler review platform Recommended in a leading US press Guidebook '36 Hours in Europe' Member of the Association "Toulousains de Toulouse": Promoting Toulouse's cultural heritage Whilst I will provide plenty of recommendations on how to get the best from visits to historical monuments that we see on a tour, I will not be able to personally take you inside.
