Hello, my name is Charalambos but to all my friends I'm known as "Bambos". I am an experienced tour guide and professionally licensed driver and I would like to show you the most amazing places all over Cyprus. Guiding for me is not a profession, it is a passion! To me, travelers visiting Cyprus are not tourist or clients, they are my guests. Hospitality is something found in the culture and the mentality of Cypriots, it comes from within us, it is in our blood. I would also like to take this opportunity to divulge what led me to become a guide and driver and what makes me stand out as a guide. I was born in the Kyrenia district of Cyprus which is where I spend my childhood years prior to the division of our Island. My family then relocated in Nicosia, our capital city where, as a youngster, I grew up playing in the streets with my siblings and neighborhood friends, in a much quieter capital back then, than it appears to look today. Following my national service in the Cypriot army, I moved to London to pursue my studies in World history and Business administration. Upon returning back home I got a job as a professional bus driver for a tour operator. Within my job, I discovered that I was very good at entertaining my guests and developed a love for people from all parts of their world and doing so by showcasing my beautiful Island. My passion for my Island and its history grew further, just as the love I have for nature and exploring new places. This led me to my next step which was purchasing my own vehicle (Land Rover 4 x 4) that gave me the opportunity to explore the Island deeper than ever possible with a coach, and I commenced working as a freelance tour guide/driver. Once armed with the Land Rover 4 x 4, I spend thousands of hours out in the field enriching my thirst for knowledge on all aspects of what makes up this little Island, including its flora and fauna, its history, archaeology and mythology; its geography and geology and most importantly its traditions, customs and its people. If not on a tour, you will often find me sitting in a village Kafenio (coffee shop) mingling with the locals, in particular the older generation whom are always ready to share their life stories and local history, sampling local food, and discovering new hidden roads (most of the time dirt tracks), and furtive nature spots. Predominantly I know exactly what makes Cyprus so special, and what has been making it tick for the last 10, 000 years, which is how far back our history is traced. For the last 25 years, I have been living in the Ayia Napa region (east coast of Cyprus), where the sunshine is abundant, the white sandy beaches are endless and there's always so much to see and do, both day and night. My most popular tour is showcasing the famous landmarks like the lovers' bridge, Sea Caves and coastal beauty of Cape Greko (The most eastern point of Europe) where both the sunrise and the sunset is a magical backdrop display. I have led hundreds of tours all over Cyprus with a variety of vehicles that are within my disposal, the Raged Land Rover Defender for adventure and thrills, the Land Rover Discovery for its air-conditioned comfort for my specialty tours, to the luxury of a minibus for that bundle of entertainment group of people.
