Guide #47364
After spending several years outside Quebec, I came back in my hometown 15 years ago to resume the guide work that I had practiced when I was younger. In the meantime, I have taught at all school levels, I have traveled around the world and since I am curious, I can talk to you about several subjects. Well! If you are reading this text, it is because you are already interested in knowing this city and this region like no other in North America. In fact, it is a unique city for several reasons; its history and culture are distinct from anything else in the world. Quebecers are a people, but influenced by other cultures: French and Catholic by birth, British by its institutions, North American in spirit and Native by its sense of freedom. Passionate about history and genealogy, I continue to learn about this city, the cradle of French civilization in North America, about its first settlers, most of whom were from, among others, Normandy, Picardie, Brittany, whose population doubled every 25 years thanks to an incredible birth rate and which knew how to learn from the Amerindians how to adapt to New France. Generations after generations, the French in America have dispersed not only across Canada but also in the United States. Traces of their passage still remain in a multitude of American states. I would like to let you know, make you appreciate its streets, its architecture, its past, its present, its geography through my comments. After having walked the streets of Quebec, I invite you to also know its surroundings: the Montmorency Falls, 82 meters (275 feet) high, Île d'Orléans, a worthy representative of Quebec rural life and its local products, a reenactment of a Huron-Wendat village or the First Nations museum. Everything within 20 minutes by car. Just let me know whatever you want to do and I will help you to make the right choice! Certified Quebec City guide (1978), travel agent diploma (New-Brunswick Community College). Driver-Tour guide in Quebec City for 15 years. Driver-tour guide on the road (Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, throughout the province of Québec, New-Brunswick, New-York, Boston, Washington DC and Philadelphia). No restrictions.
