My name is Marcos and like you I am passionate about traveling to new places and meeting people! I have been to more than 40 countries.

I used to work as a professional photographer and as a sales representative, which allowed me to get to know Brazil and South America very well. So, I decided to unite my interests: tourism, travel, culture, wines and gastronomy. That's the reason why I became a Tour Guide.

Working as a Guide allowed me to share with people what really makes me have fun and appreciate in life. I always present tours based on my own experiences. So, you will enjoy what I really like to do, not just an ordinary tour.

Besides that, I'm a very adventurous and sports guy. I am an amateur cyclist and longtime motorcyclist. I have traveled by bike and motorcycle to various parts of the State and Brazil. My favorite destination for cycling is the canyons region in Rio Grande do Sul and for motorcycle riding is Patagonia in southern Argentina.

But what I love the most is to show visitors the history of Rio Grande do Sul where I live, and everything related to the people who lives here, mostly descendants of European immigrants from Germany and Italy. Hence my interest in gastronomy and wine culture.

Oh! If you are a fan of this beverage you will have in me an enthusiastic and dedicated connoisseur of the subject because I know like the back of my hand the wine producing regions and especially the people who work to make this noble and delicious drink a worldwide success.

So, when I first went there to visit an aunt many years ago, I fell in love with the area's natural beauty. The landscape has a breathtaking charm and made me go back there hundreds of times! I can't get tired of walking the trails in the fields and canyons, breathing the purest air, taking photos, and meeting the nice people who lives there.

And speaking of that, we will get to know a lot about the culture of these people in a very special way: through the gastronomy and traditional cuisine. All very well accompanied by great wines. Something that really makes me excited!

I am a descendant of Italian immigrants who came to Brazil from Europe in the mid-19th century with the aim of populating Rio Grande do Sul. I am very proud of my heritage. The immigrants did settle at Flores da Cunha, Bento Gonçalves, Nova Pádua, and surroundings.

They brought with them to the new world their culture and traditions, such as gastronomy and the cultivation of grapes to produce wines.

That's exactly what made me fall in love with the wine region in the "Serra Gaúcha". There I meet great people who are also proud of their history and make a point of showing it through food and wine.

I have been to the region so many times that I decided to learn more about it. Today I am a Certified Specialist in Regional Cultural Attractions and I took a FISAR Sommelier course to understand and appreciate more of the beverage I love so much.

An Italian visitor once said to me: "Italian food in Brazil is better than in Italy! Capisci?" Maybe you can also help me confirm this. . .
