A life in color

Louis Comfort Tiffany had a display at the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. From that he acquired a number of commissions to adorn some of the most famous buildings in Chicago. We will explore his stained glass domes and windows and mosaics. This tour can not start before 10AM.

This is a leisurely walking tour. We can start at your downtown hotel or the Chicago Visitors Center in the Cultural Center. I will provide directions.

Meeting Location + Tour Duration

Meeting location: We will meet in the Randolph Street lobby of the Chicago Cultural Center (the former Chicago Public Library) at Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue. I can provide directions from your hotel. I can also arrange to meet you at your downtown hotel.

End location: We will either return to the starting location or begin at one of the starting locations and end at the other. I will provide directions to return to your hotel.

Duration: 2 hours

Our walking pace will determine the number of stops we can make during the tour.


This is a leisurely walking tour. You can choose to cover as little as a few city blocks or a couple of miles. Our pace will determine the number of sites visited.

What’s Included

You will receive a welcome packet at your downtown hotel. I provide bottled water for each guest. I will take digital photographs and videos of you at each location and download them to you. Each guest will receive a post card of a Chicago landmark to keep as a souvenir or to mail to someone back home.
