This tour is a must for any visitor wishing to grasp Venice's main historical, artistic and religious facts.

St. Mark's church once a national shrine to keep the relics of the Evangelist as the city's protector is one of a kind building. Its architecture recalls the early Byzantine buidlings of Costantinople while the 8000 sq. meters of mosaic covering the ceiling is one of the world's largest.

The Ducal Palace now a museum was the seat of the executive, legislative and judicial powers during 350 years in its present version. But above all it epitomizes the long standing power of the Venetian Republic the first ever in Europe. Venetians spent with no restraint calling the greatest architects and artist to decorate it providing thus to present visitors a great collection of art.

Giovanna was so very informative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She also was an expert at getting us past the crowds in the Basilica and Doge's Palace.
