Rome wasn't built in a day so invest 3 days to discover its wonders! On day 1 a morning orientation tour of the city center and an historical introduction following an ancient aquiduct that supplies magnificent fountains and squares commissioned by the Popes. In the afternoon the visit of the Altemps Museum and its roman sculpures, then the exploration of the Crypta Balbi, an underground museums showing the many layers of history and reuse of Rome's buildings. On day 2 the visit of the Forum, the main square of the Empire followed by a tour of the arena, the Colosseum. In the afternoon we will reach a private residence of the roman elite dating to 300AD and an early christian church turned in a fortress around 1000AD. On day 3 we will be amazed by the beauty of Baroque sculptures of Bernini and paintings of Pietro da Cortona and Caravaggio's pictures in the Barberini Museum; we will then end in the shrine of masterpieces of the Vatican Museums, admiring Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel and S. Peter Basilica!

Roman houses by the Caelian Hill and church of S. Quattro Coronati

Day 3:
Barberini Palace Museum (Botticelli, Caravaggio, Cortona paintings)
Church of S. Maria della Vittoria (Bernini's "Extasy of S. Teresa")
Church of S. Carlino (Borromini's architectural masterpiece)
Vatican Museums, Sistine chapel and S. Peter Basilica
