Rum, tradition and a beautiful beach
Learn about the art of "agricole" rum making by visiting the renowed Clément distillery and, of course, sample their varied production. A top site to see in Martinique with its old créole house, distillery and a beautiful garden.
Discover the landscapes of the Atlantic coast and stop at the little fishing village of Vauclin and the Point Faula beach. Admire the panoramic view of the island from the Morne Gommier viewpoint and finish with a swim and a visit to the Anse Figuier Ecomuseum, to learn more about the traditions and history of Martinique.
Leaving Fort-de-France, we first head to the Clément distillery. There I will guide you through the site and we'll visit the palm tree garden, the old distillery and aging rooms, the créole house and finish with a free tasting and the rum shop (duration about 1 hr).
After this, off we go and drive to Vauclin, a pretty little fishing village and its white-sand beach, Pointe Faula. We have a short stop at the beach for some pics and a short swim, if interested.
Leaving Vauclin we visit the Morne Gommier viewpoint, for a spectacular panoramic view on top of the mountain.
We finish with a swim and a visit of the Ecomuseum of Anse Figuier (optional) at a beautiful white-sand beach before heading back to the ship. Lunch or snacks can be purchased at the Anse Figuier beach.

Meri provided our family of four an excellent overview and tour of Martinique. She was on time for pick-up, knowledgeable about the island, history, and specific sites, and provided very helpful interpretation expertise. Meri was very flexible and accommodated what we wanted to see and do. We would recommend Meri as a tour guide for families, couples, and groups who are interested in seeing different areas in Martinique.
