3 hours Walking tour with stories from the family Van Trapp
On this tour you will learn about the true story of the Trapp family, how they lived in Salzburg, where and why their singing talent was discovered and how they left Salzburg to end up in the United States.
Besides insider stories from the movie I will also talk about some historical facts to give you a good insight of the time the Trapp family lived in Salzburg and the current live style in town.
You will see Mozart square, Residence square, Salzburger Dom, Fortress Hohensalzburg, Nonnberg Abbey, St. Peters District, Salzburg Festival Hall, horse wash monument, farmers market, Salzach river and Mirabell Garden and much more.
Starting at the Mozart square you will have a great view to the Residence square and the Residence fountain. We will cross the square to the Salzburg Dom and continue to Nonnberg Abbey which is a little incline. But the view is spectacular overlooking the city center and the Austrian Alps. You can even see the mountain the family climbed at the end of the movie. Near the Abbey is a special St. Peter's cemetery and the Salzburg Festival Hall where the family was discovered and filmed.
Enjoy the local farmers market, pass Mozart's birthplace and find the Salzach river to the other side of town. There we will end at the Mirabell Garden also called do-re-mi garden. The kids spend a lot of time here to sing and dance do-re-mi.
Don't be shy and sing or dance yourself! :)
