Glacier and Volcano with the Entrance to the Centre of the Earth
Let's join a long day tour to the Snaefellsjokull national park with the famous volcano and glacier Snaefellsjokull. We will see all kinds of interesting nature on the way - mountains, lava fields, rivers, craters, cliffs, beach line - even long before we enter the national park which is the smallest national park in Iceland and the only one that reaches all the way down to the sea.
We take breaks at several beautiful places, walking down to the pebble beach Djupalonssandur seeing lava cliff formations, blow holes along the beach if you take a 30 minutes walk. And more. We also drive through small fishing villages on the peninsula.
The first science fiction "A Journey to the Centre of the Earth" by Jules Verne is supposed to take place in the glacier. The volcano is one of seven supernatural energy sources in the world.

This was our last day trip with Gudrun and it was perfect. The national park was a treasure trove of things to see. Gudrun had met and exceeded all our expectations and the three of us miss her already now that we are home. If I ever go back, it would be to do it all again with Gudrun. She has my highest esteem and respect as a tour guide.
