6 hour shore excursion from Katakolon
For those who want a different experience, I propose an off the beaten track tour.
This 6 hour tour includes a visit to Skafidia and the monastery there, a visit of the Frankish castle of Chlemoutsi and a stop for a swim at either St. Andreas or Kourouta beach.
The minivan is equipped with sound system with microphone and offers WiFi. We will wait for you at the designated area in Katakolon port and always arrive earlier than the time agreed in order for you not to wait and spend valuable time.
We will first drive to Skafidia where you will visit the monastery. Inside the monastery you will find a Byzantine church from the 11th century AD, with paintings and iconography on the walls.
Then we will drive to Kyllini and visit the impressive and well preserved Frankish castle of Chlemoutsi, which dates back to 1220 AD.
On the way back to Katakolon we will stop at either the famous beach of Kourouta or St. Andreas where you will enjoy a swim or have lunch or coffee, cooling off in the shade by the seaside.
