See the best sights of your preference. A drive around the historical center that is the oldest quarter in the city. Famous landmarks in the Historic Center include the Plaza de la Constitución the nation's symbolic center and one of the world's largest public squares, called zocalo. The National Palace houses the remarkable murals by Diego Rivera that depict the Mexican History. The archaeological site of Templo Mayor shows the glory of Aztec civilization. The Metropolitan Cathedral, built over 240 years, reflects three centuries of architectural heritage. Palacio de Bellas Artes is the most important cultural venue in downtown which contains great murals by Mexican artists and the controversial Diego Rivera's famous mural that portrays John D. Rockefeller who commissioned and destroyed the original.

Every 15 -16 of September the Historic Center is closed because of the celebration of the Independence Day and some other districts in the city.
