Enjoy thousands of years of culture and history in a single day in a visit to the architectural treasures of these two exquisite Tuscan towns.
The tour begins with a 30 minute journey to Pisa. This is great opportunity to visit one of the world's most famous landmarks, the Leaning Tower. You'll also discover the green lawns of the Piazza dei Miracoli and its three other equally impressive but less well known architectural beauties: the Duomo (cathedral), the Baptistry with its stunning acoustics and the Camposanto, or monumental cemetery.
We'll move on to Volterra, about 1 hour away. This hilltop town has roots that go back thousands of years. It's a characteristic cluster of buildings with golden-stone walls and red tiled roofs, shaped by generations of inhabitants included the Etruscans, the Romans and the Florentines. It is archaeologically very rich, with an Etruscan acropolis, a Roman theatre, and Renaissance palaces. Please note I don't provide for guided visit of museums or walking tours.
