The Soul of a City Shines through Its Stores!

This is not your regular shopping tour but rather a different way of exploring Genoa's arts and its lifestyle.
Genoa's downtown hides some extraordinary shops in the majestic interiors of ancient residences. We will explore a few of them along with the highlights of the city (Via Garibaldi, Piazza De Ferrari, the old City).
One such store is located in the 16th century Palazzo Baldassarre Lomellino in Strada Nuova, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Our walking tour will then take us to some small historic shops hidden in the narrow alleys of the old city: stores where locals shop for food, candy, and cribs, and that have remained pristine for the last hundred years. After a break for espresso or cappuccino, we will take a plunge in Genoa's Mercato Orientale, a quaint and most picturesque produce market (cab fares included in the price of the tour).

Itinerary

Via Garibaldi, Piazza De Ferrari, the old city, one or two old mansion housing beautiful stores, the Market. A stop in a cafè.
Since stores are closed from 12. 30 or 1. 00 until 3. 30 pm and since a bit of walking is involved, the time when we begin the tour will affect the itinerary.

A Recent Review of this tour

Best guide so far on our 14 day trip in Milan, lake como, and chinque terre. Very informative yet casual and down to earth. Learned not only about the history and cultural part of the town but also introduced us to the daily life of locals, specialty food, market and helped tremendously with translation. Four hour tour was a leaisirely stroll through new and old towns, and included time I browse old shops and a small coffee break (included in tour!). Highly recommend and wish all tour guides are like her!
