Founded by the Elimi and located in the north-western part of Sicily, in the province of Trapani, Segesta is a beautiful archaeological site with a 5th century BC Doric Temple and a Greek Theatre.
We will drive to the Trapani Salt Pens, inside an important WWF oasis, surrounded by nature with a breathtaking landscape. It is possible to admire specimens of Heron, Swans, Pink Flamingos.
Then we will drive up to Erice, a medieval town located at 1000 meters above sea level, with a breathtaking view of the city of Trapani, the Egadi Islands and the salt pan, the Zingaro Reserve and the marble quarries of Custonaci.
Erice is famous for the Castle of Venus, and for its almond sweets and cakes.
We will go to the Salt Pans in Trapani, about an hour and a half drive, and after that, we will drive up to Erice where you will walk around the medieval town.
I will meet you back at the car park and then drive to a local agriturismo for lunch, for Sicilian food and wine.
Then, we will drive to Segesta where you will see the Doric Temple and theatre.
After the visit, we will drive back to Palermo.
