If you're planning to visit Lake Atitlán, you can't miss this adventure!
With its 3020 meters of altitude at the summit (around 9905 feet), its the smaller of the three volcanos surrounding the shores of Lake Atitlán, but also the most popular and the one with the best view of the whole lake from the gazebo close to the summit.

We travel to the town of Panajachel, on the northeastern shore of Lake Atitlán, where we take the boat to San Pedro la Laguna. We can eat lunch in Panajachel, San Pedro la Laguna, or during the hike.
After arriving to San Pedro la Laguna, we can walk or take a taxi to the park rangers station, we pay the entrance fee and begin our 4 hour hike to the camp site.
We set our camp, cook and eat dinner, and then we relax and enjoy a good night of sleep.
We wake up very early to hike the last part of the trail to the gazebo and watch an amazing sunrise.
We hike back to our camp and eat breakfast, and then we prepare to hike back to San Pedro la Laguna.
We can eat lunch in San Pedro la Laguna, or we can take the boat back to Panajachel and eat lunch there. After this we return to Guatemala city or Antigua.
