Industrial heritage of Rijeka Private Tour
Did you know that Rijeka is the home of the popular cartoon character Professor Balthazar? Or that the first torpedo missile was invented and launched close to Rijeka's city center? How about that in its golden industrial era, Rijeka's industry made up for 50% of Croatia's overall production? Back in the day, Rijeka's factories produced paper, sugar, tobacco, string, and oil, and a total of 19 mills on the river Rječina were working in full swing (one of these still being operational today). Experience Rijeka as it once was!
We will gather on Korzo, Rijeka's main promenade street, in front of the Tourist info office. We will take a stroll down Korzo to Rječina's delta and Tito's ship Galeb, cross the iron bridge and pass through Rijeka's east side in order to get to the Hartera paper factory. We will take a look at the remnants of old factory facilities. We will then go back to the center, where a bus will be waiting to take us to the Torpedo factory and return to Korzo.
