Lesley met me at the appointed place and time to begin the tour. She was friendly and very knowledgeable of South African history which she shared with me in great (and interesting detail) while we drove to the Cradle of Humankind. On the way we spent an hour driving through a private game park and seeing a variety of animals (I hadn't expected this to be part of the tour). She supplied drinks, snacks and detailed conversation about the origins of mankind in South Africa. Highly recommend this tour!!!
We really enjoyed our tour and time with Lesley. We are a group of 7 people. We are family and relatives with age diversity from a 7 year old girl up to 73 year old grandma. Lesley looked after us seriously. Her knowledge about history of Johannesburg and South Africa is also outstanding. We also really enjoyed the Safari to Pillanesberg. Despite the rainy day, Lesley tried to make all of us happy. She knows very well about the animals, especially birds. We really enjoyed our time with Lesley

Lesley took us on a great tour of the Cradle of Humankind. During the drive she gave us an overview of South Africa's history. She greatly enhanced our cave tour and our visit to the museum. After our tour we went to Lesedi Cultural Village. It was truly a day well spent. Lesley is very engaging, extremely knowledgeable and a very friendly person. We really enjoyed our time together--and highly recommend her services!
We can only say good things about Lesley. I had read previous comments before booking and she didn't let us down. She provided us with loads of information and was always willing and ready to answer our questions. Her mini-van is very comfortable and there were so many snacks, fruits and refreshments that we didn't need to waste time stopping for lunch. She offers a first-class service. We are very glad to have booked this tour with her.

Lesley is an exceptional person and an exceptional tour guide. Her knowledge of the history, geography, politics, and culture of South Africa is encyclopedic. Happily, she complements this deep knowledge with very clear exposition. She speaks carefully and precisely and is also a master story-teller. Finally, she is gracious and hospitable and friendly. I cannot imagine a better tour guide! Highly recommended.

This should be on everyone's list of things to do near Johannesburg and Ms. Opperman should be the guide to go with. She added so much more detail than the displays it was like a walking history lesson. The caves themselves are a physical challenge for anyone with mobility limitations, but the museum itself is worth a full afternoon. Ms. Opperman is very flexible with her clients' wants and needs and helps personalize the tour so it fulfills the highest expectations.

Lesley was an encyclopedic guide with knowledge to impart on paleontology as well as flora, fauna, and history. She is a proud South African woman of English heritage who has a well founded perspective on what has happened and what is happening in South Africa. Lesley took excellent care of us for our day in the Cradle of Humanity.

We had four wonderful tours with Lesley. Great guide. Jo'burg, Pretoria, Soweto and Cradle of humankind.
Lesley was very knowledgeable and gave us a very thorough background of the history of South Africa and in particular, the history of Johannesburg and Pretoria. She met us on time and her driving was excellent and we enjoyed her company throughout. We were also grateful for her guidance when visiting the various museums.

Lesley provided a wonderful tour of the Cradle of Humanity and the Origins Center at Witwatersrand University for Leslie Thompson, Joan Kell, and Christopher Kell. This was the last day of our South African adventure, and she topped up the visit in wonderful fashion.

Lesley was our guide for three days. She always arrived on time, including picking us up at the train station. She is more knowledgeable about more things than anyone I know--history, botany, science, politics, etc. We learned a lot about South Africa from her as we drove to various places. She had lived in the United States for 2 years, and so could compare South Africa to the US, which was helpful.

Fascinating tour. We didn't go down in the caves, but after being there my husband wished he had! Thanks, Leslie for a lovely day.

A definite 'bucket list' experience. Highly recommend to anyone who wants an amazing, life affirming experience. I am still pinching myself and grinning from ear to ear whenever I think of the walk with lions. Being so close to the majestic wild animals and watching them up close was awesome.

Extra stars for Leslie for our trip to Sterkfontein and Lesedi Village. Had a wonderful wonderful time and she was very compassionate and did a lot of extra planning so that one of us (who is handicapped) could participate fully in the experiences. Couldn't have had a better introduction to South Africa and the Johannesburg area. Leslie is spectacular.
Lesley is a very knowledgeable and informative guide. We had a great day and learnt so much about the country and it's history.

Lesley picked us up at our hotel. This is a superior tour and I would give it a 5+ rating. This should not be missed. The caves were amazing, crawling through short tunnels and into open areas. We then went to the Maropeng Interactive Centre. It's took us through the beginning of time to present day, how humans have evolved and what we are doing to our planet. We then went to the Lesedi Cultural Centre. We were told of how five different tribes lived long ago. We saw tribal dances then had dinner. Great!
Lesley was a wonderful tour guide and broadened our knowledge of South Africa and its history. Hilary and Robert

Recently did a tour with Lesley. Unfortunately our original plan to tour the Cradle of Humankind had to be scrapped due to flight delays, however, Lesley was very accommodating in doing an brief impromptu alternate tour of Joburg. Woulda loved to have done the caves, oh well, maybe next time! The beverages/snacks on the bus were a very nice touch too as getting stuck at a small airport gate with a delayed flight throws off any eating/drinking schedule! Thanks Lesley!

Lesley is quite knowledgeable and interesting. I would definitely recommend her and use her again as a guide next trip to South Africa.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you very much - I thoroughly enjoyed our trip.
