An absolutely stunning day, perfectly pitched, informative, engaging and Shelldon really brought the history of the battlefields alive. All this in spite of some uncharacteristic foggy and damp weather. He went out of his way to make the day work for an audience ranging from 15 to 54 and was a mine of fascinating information on all things SA as we made the long journey home. To cap it all he gave us a superb restaurant recommendation as well! A brilliant day.

Outstanding day out, even considering the torrential rain/hail storm as we were heading out. The site is excellent and Shelldon displayed excellent knowledge at all times and made the story come alive. There were a few other tours around us and their guide said nothing in comparison. Lunch was basic at Rorke's Drift but very tasty and just enough. It was a long drive there and back and must have been tiring for Shelldon but he remained engaged and entertaining the whole time. one of the best trips

This is the second tour we have done with Shelldon. This guide has an infinite amount of knowledge and passion about his subject. The drive up from Durban is filled with local history and topological content. Always willing to stop his own commentary to give answers to any questions that you may have, either about the subject or something that you may have seen en route. In hindsight we should maybe have done an overnight stay at the game reserve or battlefield tour to move onto the next tour. Enjoy
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for the great review Robert. I have to sway that the battlefield tours are my favorite and I'm pleased you enjoyed it so much. All the best, Shelldon.

An excellent day trip to visit the battlefields of Isandlwana & Rorkes' Drift. Shelldon is extremely knowledgeable regarding the subjects of Zulu history, the Anglo-Zulu war and the battles that are the subject of this tour. I have read about the battles but through visiting the actual sites of the conflict and through Shelldons' vivid description, I was finally able to see the events clearly and understand how the massacre at Isandlwana occurred and the defense at Rorke's drift plated out.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for the kind comments Michael, it's long a long day but always worth it! Best regards Shelldon
