This was a very enjoyable tour. The monasteries have been extensively repaired, but they are still interesting because a) one learns a lot about the impact of the Soviet Union on spiritual life; and b) they have been reconstructed as much as possible to resemble their original design. Usually, we see monasteries with faded murals, so to see them as they might have been when first built is a nice change. The winery was also fun -- if you've never been driven through a wine cave before, it's a treat.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Ardice, thank you very much for your positive feedback. I am happy that you and the family enjoyed the tour to the monasteries and the winery. Best regards!
