To be fair, Anna was concerned for our safety on a rainy day. The entire day was rushed in order to get us off the hiking trail before the trail was too slick, muddy or otherwise dangerous to pass. However, we all felt that the beginning of the tour she could have been more aware of our needs to restroom, water, coffee etc. Again in a hurry to get to a certain train, we were almost running from the boat to the train causing a stressful situation. We also felt the day was expensive.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for the feedback. Hiking in the Cinque Terre on a day with rain forecast reduces flexibility: the trails require certain time to complete, the boats run on a reduced schedule, the taxis are difficult to find and the trains are more likely to be late. I always warn guests about rain forecast ahead of tour. Doing this tour from Florence adds further constraints because three trains must be changed to arrive in the Cinque Terre. Prices of tours are known in advance and there are no hidden costs.
