Joanne proved to be extremely knowledgeable, easy-going and flexible. I took the tour with my 12-year-old son and was concerned the time would drag and/or we would become overloaded. It did not happen. Joanne sprinkled in a potpourrie of personal anecdotes, historical events and pointed questions along the lines of, "well, what do *you* think about that?" The time flew by and my son is still talking about what he learned. This tour truly captures the feeling of being shown around by a local.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Steve, I am so please that your time with me was memorable. You and your son were great and I enjoyed my time with you all as well. Please take the knowledge you gained while you were here to be the change as well as remember you are the most important piece (both of you). I hope if you are ever in Selma again you think of me.

I and my entire group had an incredible time. We were given real incite into the history of the black experience in America, from slavery, jim crow, the civil rights movement, and so much more. Joanne is a wonderful guide, as she was able to provide her story as an eyewitness in the civil rights March on Bloody Sunday. Her life is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. Thank you, Joanne.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Hi Kelly, I had an incredible time with you and your group too. It is my hope that you take the knowledge you received and be the change we have been waiting on. Thank you again and I hope if you are ever in Selma again you think of me. Peace and Blessings, JoAnne

This is an OUTSTANDING tour. We brought twelve high school students on Joanne's tour and they could not stop talking about the experience afterward. For too many young people, the Civil Rights period seems like a remote chapter from history with grainy black and white photos; Joanne's personal stories brought it to life and made an indelible impact on us all. Highly recommend!

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you, Elizabeth. Please keep us in mind for future trips to Selma.

This was so much more than just a tour; meeting Joanne was a once-in-a-lifetime experience which we will never forget! And Joanne is so much more than a tour guide; she is a local celebrity and a living piece of history. She is fascinating & funny, and made us feel part of Selma with her warmth & wit as she led us through her personal experience and the heart-breaking & awe-inspiring history in which she has participated first hand!

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you. I had a great time with both of you. Please recommend others. And if you are ever this way again, find me. Peace and Blessings

Joanne provides the kind of tour--the kind of experience--in Selma that I don't think anyone could replicate. I am so glad we booked her for a tour. I heard from many members of my group that their time with Joanne was an especially meaningful part of their overall tour. She offered a perfect mix of factual and historical information, her own personal experience, and inspiration for action.

Dear Joanne - You made this a once in a lifetime experience for us. We were overwhelmed by the fact that you are one of the freedom fighters and actually participated in the battles in Selma. We had a very emotional and superb 3 hour tour in your neighbourhood with you as the real storyteller - wow you are an amazing strong woman with a lot of stamina. Hearing you telling the story of what happened in those days was heartbreaking. I have travelled to the USA many times since 1992 and this tour is the best

Joanne is wonderful and her tour of her hometown and the incredible history she was part of and lived through is something everyone should hear. It is worth a trip just to Selma to spend the afternoon with Joanne. For our children to spend time with Joanne learning the history of the March and what segregation looked like and felt like firsthand is priceless. Go to Selma! Book a tour with Joanne!!! This is a must see and a must do!

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I had a really good time with your family. Please come again.
