Doug gave us a great half day overview of the Vancouver highlights. We liked the combination of walking, train and boat taxi. He was very friendly and open to answering any questions we had. I would highly recommend Doug for others looking for an intro to this beautiful city.

We couldn't have asked for more! Doug was the perfect tour guide, when we recently visited Vancouver. We toured Downtown, Stanley Park, and enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont. He thoroughly researched the route to ensure we would be able to access the trails while using our Mobility scooters. Allowing us to stop for photos and rest stops as we wanted along the route.

Tour: #469374, The Best of Downtown Vancouver and Granville Island, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada    view tour
Date: Sep 27/19

We had an exhilarating Best of Vancouver tour with Doug today. The scenery was beautiful, the stories and history very interesting. Travel by foot, bus, water taxi and train was a great way to get around to the various neighborhoods. The visit to Granville Island was much more than a shopping trip. We saw many more interesting aspects of the island. Doug told us about its history and artistic legacy and the intertwined relationship between the island and its neighbors. We highly recommend this tour.

Doug took on our group of eight, including two teens and two toddlers, on very short notice and we had a great time! He was extremely flexible and accommodating and showed us quite a bit of Vancouver in a short amount of time. We (especially the toddlers) loved the inclusion of the multiple methods of public transportation in the tour. Thank you Doug!

We had a great tour with Doug . . . he contacted me just prior to our arrival in Vancouver and offered to meet us at our hotel, which was a great help and allowed him to show us some of the city as we headed to Granville Island! He was very knowledgeable, friendly and enjoyable to listen to! Afterwards, he emailed me answers/information about some of the questions we had as well as a link to a recipe for the Nanaimo bars that he treated us to! It was a wonderful way to start our visit!!

Our tour of Vancouver with Doug was excellent. He was on time, professional and very knowledgeable of the region. Doug adapted to our pace and made sure we were comfortable and well hydrated during our walking tour. I would highly recommend this tour!

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for your kind words. The reason I love being a tour guide is because I get to meet people like you and your very inspirational mother. I know that you are leaving early tomorrow but after you arrive at YVR ask the nearest ridiculously helpful Cdn where 'The Heart of the Airport ' is. (hint.. it is art piece done by Bill Reid, bronze casting , jade patina, huge) It is very close to the International departure area and not that far from U.S. departures....5 minutes tops!

Doug stepped in at the last minute, since the guide we had secured hurt her foot. He was great! Doug is a wealth of knowledge and toured us through much of Vancouver by various modes of transportation. It was wonderful to get a sense of all the areas of the city in a few short hours. Thank you!

Date: Jul 13/18

We had an absolutely fantastic time. Doug has great information and history about the city and the region, and he places it in fascinating context given his knowledge about the rest of the world and given how well traveled he is. He covered a great amount of the city too. We had a delightful time.Anne, from Philadelphia

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for wonderful words. I enjoyed myself thoroughly; but did you forget that I told you there was going to be some homework? !. Go to the Christ Church Cathedral.. just down the road from you. 2.Google search the following pairs...Earl Grey Tea, Grey Cup... Stanley Park, Stanley Cup... Emily Carr, Group of Seven...Alexander Mackenzie, Lewis and Clark.. and also Pot Latch. Good reading on the cruise ship- Pierre Berton's book on the Klondike.
