Tour: Customized Tour for Alana Carvalho, Chisinau, Moldova
Date: Sep 30/18

As a fan of urbex, I was very excited to find Nicolai's "forgotten castles" tour. He went above and beyond to accommodate my last-minute request and the tour was amazing, including some extraordinary locations and great critical discussions. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Moldova and pointed out many details I was overlooking. He is a very polite guy with a great sense of humour - and for those worrying about drivers, you're safe with him :) One of the best guides I've ever met!

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Huh, thank you very much, dear Alana, for your kind words! Yeah, that nice experience happens when both, a guide and a traveler share the same passion! It has been a big pleasure for me too. I hope you left Moldova with some good memories and you are always welcome back! So many ruins remained here to be explored! Trust me!))) Wish you all the best!

Tour: A private tour for James Clarke to Balanesti Hill, Chisinau, Moldova
Date: Sep 25/18

I highly recommend Nicolai as a guide! This was my first visit to Moldova. I wanted to see the highest point of the country - a remote hill called Balanisti. He was happy to make the arrangements. Nicolai met me at the airport, on time, with the driver waiting. During the six hour tour, we had a great conversation on on the history and geography of Moldova and the overall region. Nicolai speaks several languages and also helped confirm my onward travel to Romania. I had a great visit to Moldova.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear James, thank you a lot about your decision to come to Moldova and to choose me as your guide! As I told you - you are my very first tourist from Tours By Locals and I am so happy I had so pleasant and smooth start within this great community of travelers and guides. I wish you to reach new tops of the world, and who knows, may be one day I say you "Hello James!" on the way to a mountain peak) All the best!
