Elke took us to amazing places outside Amsterdam on this tour. We rode safely and in comfort out to the windmills, polders and villages. She gave us the history of the determined people, the understanding of the mechanics of windmills, and the fun of exploring. We highly recommend Elke and this tour.

One of the best tours I have taken. Elke was knowledgeable, fun, an excellent driver, very flexible. She was on time and even provided us with a special drop off. I would HIGHLY recommend her for a countryside tour of Amdsterdam.

Visited Amsterdam with my 3 adult children and booked a tour to see the countryside with Elke. As my kids told me, it was the highlight of our vacation. To begin, Elke is a lovely woman who is quite knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of history. She tailored our tour to be sure we saw several beautiful villages, visited a windmill, a couple of museums, had a traditional Dutch snack, and also saw how clogs were made and were able to sample cheese. Great stories, lots laughs & fun with Elke! 5++

Elke was wonderful. We are so happy we spent the extra money for a private tour. We learned what we wanted to and not the typical big tour stuff. We were instantly comfortable with her. We really we know a lot more about windmills and The Netherlands. This was so interesting we had a great time

A wonderful tour of the beautiful county side and also the workings of the windmills. A side trip to the cheese factory was tasteful. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a pleasant day, which seemed too short.

We loved our day in the Dutch countryside with Elke. She was very well-informed and answered all our questions about Dutch culture and history. She customized the tour for our interests. The villages we visited (De Rijp and Graft) were lovely. She was knowledgeable, funny, and engaging. Highly recommended.

Elke was great! She gave us a perfect day in the Dutch countryside. The functional windmill we visited was very interesting, and Elke made sure we got a great personal tour inside. We got to see several lovely and photogenic small villages with no other tourists around, and our ride in the electric boat through the small canals was a vacation highlight. She was prompt, pleasant and fun to spend time with. We highly recommend her. Thank you Elke for a wonderful day!

What an excellent choice for a half-day in the Dutch countryside. We made instant connection with Elke, our guide, and we truly enjoyed the experience. We were able to see many "off the beaten path" places, enjoy lunch in a hotel converted from a "butter factory", and hear many anecdotes about the various towns and people. We learned a great deal about Holland in just one trip; things and information one does not hear nor see if just visiting Amsterdam.
Elke is a superb guide, much recommended. Not only is she accommodative and planned according to individual needs, she is punctual, very well mannered and hospitable. With good background knowledge about the local history and places we visit, she makes the tour educational, and not mere sightseeing pickup. We enjoyed her company and enthusiasm; it was interesting short excursion.

Elke was amazing! She met our family at the airport after a very long morning with drinks and snacks. Her vehicle was very comfortable and she was a safe driver. We learned so much, she is very knowledgeable on the area. Spent the next 5 hours seeing highlights of the country side. We had 2 children with us and she was very kind and attentive to them. Following the tour she dropped us at our Airbnb in the city. We definitely recommend Elke!!!! What a great start to our vacation in Amsterdam

Elke provide much research before the tour. She went above and beyond by purchasing a painting by my great uncle for me which is over 100 years old. Very knowledgeable about all things Dutch. Very friendly and personable

Elke was a fantastic, knowledgeable guide. We thoroughly enjoyed learning the history oh the polders and our visit into a working windmill to learn how they were used to create the agricultural lands of today. We were able to climb up inside to the top of the windmill to learn firsthand how the pumping system of the windmill works. One of my all time favourite tours.

Elka was the best and our family had a fantastic time with her. We would highly recommend a tour with her and would love to do it again some day. Her knowledge of everything related to the area - tulips, windmills, etc. - was amazing and we learned a ton.
What a wonderful day we had with Elke touring the country side around Amsterdam. Elke went above and beyond to make it a special day and to address all of our requests. It was "Kings Day" we saw the celebrations in the small village of Marken, visited the Zuiderzee Works and the 32 km Dam, the town of Anna Paulowna and the beautiful tulip gardens there and ended the day with windmills and tulip fields. Elke gave us 'Kings Day" orange regalia, so we fit in with the locals celebrating the festival.

We LOVED Elke! She was great! She was funny, focused and straight forward, and clearly knew her stuff. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and the best way to approach things. She was also extremely flexible and willing to adapt to our requests. We had such a fun day and it was a pleasure meeting and spending the day with her. We learned so much. Amy Lynn

My husband and I had a remarkable time during our visit to Amsterdam - and this tour was the highlight! Elke was wonderful - friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was amazing - tulip fields, dikes, windmills and an old village. Elke kindly adjusted the schedule so that we could spend more time at the tulip fields (so that my husband could photograph and film the beauty). We highly recommend Elke (and also this tour).

We had a wonderful day out in the countryside with Elke. She was just fun to get to know and spend the day with. She was able to adjust our tour to see what interested us most, Namely that was the flowers, but we were also able to stop and see some birds, visit some old towns, watch a clog maker, visit the North Sea, and have a nice lunch at a local fish shop. Elke took us to a beautiful little garden full of tulips and past miles and miles of tulip fields in the north. It was a day full of memories.

Great trip. We saw all that was advertised and more. Elke is polite and knowledgeable. We understand the Netherlands and its sights, tastes, and sounds better than we could have without her input. A great way to spe d the day!

Elke quite simply "made" our trip! A day with her in Northern Holland brought history, windmills, tulip fields in bloom, and a delightful sense of small-town and agricultural Holland. She loves her subject, and her careful planning and extensive knowledge shows! Thank you for a jewel of a day in the countryside!

Spending time with Elke was fantastic! Not only did we learn all about the tulip industry by going to the early morning flower auction, but we learned so much about Dutch history and current Dutch culture. After exploring Keukenhof Elke took us to the coast and around the area to view the large tulip and daffodil fields. But what really impressed us was the fact that Elke was more concerned about our experience than the time. Great tour!!

We rate Elke 5 out of 5. What a fountain of knowledge about Dutch history and the areas we visited. She was very pleasant, was able to answer all of our questions, and spent extra time with us. She was worth every penny of the charge.
