Michael really made my aunt and I feel like we had a friend touring us in Jamaica. The personal tour was very easy to follow and quite chill. We did not feel rushed at all. I travel on a wheelchair and he made sure that did not stop us from having a great Jamaican experience!

Micheal gave a great tour and provided a history of his people. Met several local farmers and tasted their wares right off the vine.

Mr Micheal is a great tour guide as well as his team. We were a group of 12 from NJ and Dominican Republic. We enjoyed the talk in the bus and his friendliness. We discovered herbs and spices in their natural form while hiking through the woods. The blue hole and secret falls is full of activities like Zip lining, Cliff jumping, hiking, nice Jamaican music, very fun. The restaurant we went after the tour was amazing with an awesome view of Turtle beach and the Ship. The food was made as locals make them.

We spent 4 amazing days with Micheal. Day trips included Dunn's River Falls, Blue Hole and Martha Brae Rafting, Firefly Hse, Green Grotto Caves YS Falls and the Crocodile Safari (Black River). These were all fabulous but the trips by bumpy road into the Cockpit Country provided us with some of our favourite memories... Stunning views + beautiful vegetation combined with Micheal's extensive knowledge and passion for his country's history, ecology + people; shared with generosity + a gentle humour.

This tour showed us the real Jamaica and introduced us to life up in Cockpit country. Michael was friendly and knew all sorts of people. We had the opportunity to tour a local elementary school (quite an experience for my two young children), see a banana plantation, learn about local fruits and interact with the people of Jamaica. I highly recommend this for those who want to get away from the resorts for a few hours and learn about life and culture in the mountains of Jamaica.

Micheal is a very knowledgeable tour guide who knows the history of the maroons and the significance of cockpit country. He is also very accommodating of your needs/wants during the tour. He gave us a lot of information regarding the history/fruits/animals of the area. My only area of improvement is making the time at the village/hike longer. It felt short and I wanted to spend more time hiking the mountains.

Amazing host! We came to Montego Bay via a cruise ship and were so thrilled to get away from the port district. Scenic drive & stunning views. It was great to have a completely customized day trip and learn about the history and struggle of the cockpit country. Can't wait to go back. Would definitely recommend Michael as a guide and will be in touch with him when we return to Jamaica!

Michael and his team were wonderful: timely, informative, caring, interested and fun to spend a day with. They brought us into the Cockpit Country and it was very interesting, both culturally and historically. It was fun to see the REAL Jamaica, not the tourist Jamaica. We highly recommend Michael G. to any one who loves to go off the beaten path.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: It was our greatest pleasure sharing the real jamaica.

Step away from the resort for a day and into what's truly Jamaica. That's what we wanted in our tour and Micheal delivered. His enthusiasm for his country is contagious. His sense of humor is delightful. His knowledge of the area and its history was impressive. His flexibility in creating just what we wanted for our day was very much appreciated. Our day with Micheal was absolutely the highlight of our trip.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: It was my pleasure to share Jamaica with you, so glad you stepped away from the resort and got to experience the beauty of the country. I sincerely enjoyed the entire day, as your interest in Jamaican culture sparked so many stories and cultural references I love to share. Look forward to welcoming you back to Jamaica soon!

Tour: Accompong Maroon Village, Montego Bay, Jamaica
Date: Feb 12/15

Highly informative and scenic tour. The tour guide, Micheal was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The village is a very important pillar of Jamaica's history and effort should be made by the authorities to repair the roads leading to it. Furthermore, there is need for the management of Accompong Maroon village to remove the plastic bottles, paper etc. strewn around and to seek assistance in making the village the first rate attraction that it has the potential to be.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you Ms. Armstrong and the rest of the group for sharing this local experience. Your remarks are very important for the preservation and future of Accompong, and all Maroon Villages, as the care must be taken by the community and leaders of Jamaica to address the roads and solid waste disposal to assure it is accessible to future generations. Looking forward to sharing more of Jamaica with you on future visits.

Our tour with Michael was wonderful. Informative, historical, and well planned. Michael is very courteous in his presentation and even thought we had some issues that were not planned and somewhat of a surprise Michael was able to deal with these issues very professionally with little discomfort to us.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for being good travelers and it was my pleasure having you here. The surprises are all part of the adventures in Jamaica.

This tour was a highlight of my 7 day cruise. That was due in large part to our guide, Michael. All six adults and the two children, 11 and 14, enjoyed the tour to the Cockpit Mts. and the beach. Although it was my only time to Jamaica, I am sure we saw a part of Jamaica that few tourists see. Michael has a love for his country and his fellow countrymen that was heartwarming to experience. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to experience not only the beach but rural life in Jamaica

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for allowing me to share Jamaica with you and your family. It was my pleasure and look forward to your next tour.

The tour with Michael wasn't just by a local, it was with someone who is 'one' with the island. His peaceful, kind and professional demeanor shows that he wants to share his love and knowledge of Jamaica and how it intertwines with the rich history. He created a day for me that will be permanently etched in all my senses, an experience that is priceless and unforgettable. If you want an intelligent and secure guide, Michael is the one to show you the genuine Jamaica with a kind smile and understanding.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet Michael and take his tour. I would recommend any tour given by Michael. Very few people would have the knowledge of Maroon history and culture that Michael has. The opportunity that he has to help his community is very high. The Maroons that live in this area are lucky to have such a caring giving person living with them. The tour was excellent and only second to the honor of meeting Michael John Erridge

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you so much John for taking this tour and giving me the opportunity to show you the real jamaica. it was a pleasure to have met yourself and your wife Michelle. Thank you so much.
