We'll see more of the cultural side of Recife. Starting with the Recife Antigo (Old Recife) and its monuments, the Marco Zero Square, Good Jesus St. , Kahal Zur Israel (first Sinagogue of the Americas) and visit the Giant Puppets Embassy, so you can meet the famous giants that parade during Recife's Carnaval, dazzling the merrymakers.
We'll also visit the Casa da Cultura, an old prison turned into a shopping mall of artcraft and all sort of local products.
The last stop will be at the workshop of Francisco Brennand, one of the most incredible places you will visit in Recife. Francisco is mainly a sculptor, but he works in several different media. He's best known for his work in ceramic sculpture.
He built his workshop in the ruins of his family's old tile factory. The land where it is located is known as Engenho Santos Cosme e Damião (Saints Cosmas and Damian Mill), is in the historic neighborhood of Várzea and is surrounded by remnants of the Atlantic Forest and the waters of the Capibaribe River.
