Although HQ screwed up our reservations we managed to meet Carol on 45 minutes notice. She is a great guide but had to work adhoc/with out reservations & we went to only one wine tasting but had a great lunch. A little pricey for almost $1,000 for the day!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Gary, unfortunately transportation makes the cost of the tour drastically increase. To cut down the total cost of the tour, you would have had to personally rent a car but this would have meant not drinking all the fantastic wines we had and driving. As for the wine tastings, the tour foresees only 1 wine tasting at either a Barbera or Spumante winery. I hope you enjoy the rest of your tour. Take care Carol

Carol was a delightful interesting guide. We were with her from 8am till 6pm and visited a medieval abbey which was interesting. The farmer's market and town of Alba was good but seemed like we spent a lot of time there without much to do. The highlight was lunch at a restaurant that Carol took us to, where we had to ring a bell and Laura let us in, and gave us a delightful lunch. We did a wine tour in Asti which was good, but thought we were going to a barolo not a spumante winery. Turned out great
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Barbara, thank you so much for the kind review but please take note that you booked the Asti & il Monferrato tour that does not include Alba & Barolo wine. Next time you check out this area, it will be a pleasure to tour you to Alba & Langhe ! Arrivederci

We cannot say enough great things about the wine tasting tour that Carol B. put together for us. After exchanging inquisitive and witty emails she perfectly customized a day trip to the wine country outside of Tornio, Italy that we are still talking about two months later. And I think she enjoyed the trip as much as we did! She also recommended a place for dinner in Tornino and called and made our reservation for us. It too was quite a treat. This is a great way to do sightseeing.
