Koichi is a fantastic guide! So kind. So thoughtful. So knowledgeable about Kyoto and Japanese history/culture. He planned a wonderful day for us including a wide variety of experiences - plus knew of a special festival happening at a shrine where we would have a unique experience taking in various performing arts -- including geisha. A day with Koichi is a day very well spent. He is a great guide for your time in Kyoto, most definitely!
Koichi was a lovely guide, very knowledgeable and friendly. He arranged for us to go to a Gaiko performance near Gion which was wonderful. A once in a lifetime experience for us and our 2 sons. We highly recommend Koichi for your local guide in Kyoto.

Koichi is an excellent tour guide. He is so professional - prompt, prepared, and knowledgeable. He listens very well and tries to customize your tour throughout the day and tailor it to your interests. For example, we mentioned we were interested in the market, some art and kimonos, so he went out of his way to show us these things in addition to the standard tour sights. A major bonus is that he is an incredible photographer - he takes the most beautiful pictures for you! Koichi is a fantastic guide!

A great tour! We saw amazing examples of temples and shrines, gardens and thousands of cherry blossoms. We enjoyed a delicious multi-course lunch that we never would have found in our own. A private tea ceremony was another highlight. Our two kids had a great time. Thank you!
Koichi was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable about the places we visited. Moreover, since we were going to have only 7-8 hours to visit, he took care of suggesting the best combination of taxis and public transportation to minimize the commuting time. He communicated timely prior to meet in Kyoto providing detailed information of the planned itinerary, transportation cost estimates, and was able to accomodate a request to visit a ceramic gallery. Wonderful visit to Kyoto thanks to him.

We had an amazing day with Koichi. He is so knowledgeable & funny. We were very lucky to see so many cherry blossoms. We especially appreciated the lunch spot he took us to. Very local & simply wonderful. He also arranged a very lovely tea ceremony for us. It was a fantastic day & he took so many photos so we can have beautiful memories. You can tell he has a great love for his city & now we share that love too.

Koichi was a perfect tour guide! We were traveling as a family of 4 (two teenagers) on our first trip to Japan and decided to hire a guide for our short stay in Kyoto. And I'm so glad we did. Koichi was polite, well spoken, and fun to be around. He was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer every question we threw at him (I think he studied history in University and we could tell). I would recommend him 100% and hope to spend more time with him on our next trip to Japan
