Joyce recommended great hotels for our tour of Kerala/Mudarai. We started with a guided tour of Cochin. On the second day Joyce took us to a fishing village which was quite magical before joining our boat at Alleppey. Distances between locations and poor road signs resulted in around 6 hours travel each day (sometimes missing lunch due to a lack of suitable places to eat). We averaged 2 hours of daylight per location after the first 2 days and we had not realised there would be so much travel time.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: The hotels I have suggested was at the familiar route. The hotels chosen by the guest was at locations far away which I was not frequented. This resulted in deviating me from concentrating in my job of giving information to finding the way to the chosen hotels and long drives. Coupled with this the usual road from Munnar Thekkady is closed for maintenance and hence to we had to take bad roads. When at one place thus had to take long drives and delayed arrivals programs delayed on the following days.
I was a little disappointed in the plan
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: To my knowledge and conscience I have fulfilled each and every demand of the shooting team except where we needed permission from authorities to shoot film. I have made it clear in the fist instance itself it will not be possible to obtain permission from India authorities in a short notice time. The film shooting team could not shoot the tea factory where it is impossible to get permission to shoot a film. May be this was the reason Mr. Omar Alothman was disappointed.
