We had a great time on the bike tour of Northern Kyoto with Takaaki. He led us on a journey to many interesting and less traveled sites, explaining their significance along the way. We also learned about religion and culture in Japan. Takaaki treated us to snacks as well as sweets at the thousand year old sweet shop. We had ample time to explore Kinkakuji. Above all, Takaaki has a great attitude, and it was a joy to spend a few hours with him. This tour was a highlight of our time in Japan.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks, MIchael! It was a beautiful day after the typhoon swirled away and one of the best weather for a bike tour. I was happy to show you small places that are easily missed by travellers and even locals. There are a bunch of places you could visit for your second trip. I'd be happy to help you explore further.

Our tour was fantastic. First of all, Takaaki was really attentive to our needs -- things like the right bike, finding bathrooms, food, water, etc. He immediately put us at ease for our trip. Secondly, he took us to a selection of marvelous places that were both off the beaten path and that were critical "must see" adventures. Thirdly, his comments and information served us well not only during that day and for the places we saw but for the rest of our trip in Japan. We learned a lot about culture.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks, Jean! I'm more than happy to take my guests to off-the-beaten-path that are well-known to locals. Definitely, cycling is the best way to get around Kyoto. I will keep another places that I think you should go till you come back to Kyoto :)

Our tour with Takaaki was one of the best biking tours we ever had. Takaaki was very knowledgeable of Kyoto; we covered so much ground by bikes, stopping by shrines and temples and getting a history lesson! He emailed me with updates on when cherry blossoms would bloom, knowing how much I wanted to see them. Personal touch! Highly recommend!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for your kind feedback. I was happy to be able to show beautiful cherry blossoms, you two were so lucky to enjoy the cherry blossoms! Definitely, bike tours are the best way to look around local neighborhood. When you come back to Japan, I will take you to another parts of Kyoto :)
