Ian was an excellent guide who gave us over a thousand years of Hamburg's history in a three hour tour, with the actual sites and structures to illustrate his stories. Personal tours with guides like Ian is the reason we book tours with locals instead of traveling along with 30 other people.

I reserved a special private tour with Ian S. He customized the tour from a walking tour to a car tour as my husband has difficulty walking. Ian picked us up with a driver. This was good as it is hard to park in Hamburg and the car could wait for us at stops instead of parking. We made several stops at the most Important monuments and buildings and Ian gave us great explanations about the history, social and economic issues, and developments about each. It was a great tour and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ian was informative and interesting. He was also quite accommodating. We loved the history of the old city as well as the other areas… Jewish,Port, new areas that were once warehouses as well as the "typical Hamburg lunch spot he recommended. He brought Hamburg alive for us...thank you!

Ian was very knowledgable about Hamburg and gave us plenty of interesting information. My husband is in a wheelchair but Ian had hired a special car for us and nothing was too much trouble. Ian made our visit to Hamburg a most pleasurable experience. Many thanks.
