Ertunga arrived promptly as scheduled. His manner is very relaxed, which was fine for us. He provided a wealth of knowledge about Pergamon and Asklepion. We enjoyed the day very much. Lunch was at a buffet restaurant which offered a wide variety of dishes, in part because it was frequented by tour buses. We, as a group of 2, were outliers. We were back at our hotel 7 hours after we left. Maybe it is faster to tour with a group of 2!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Dear Jim, thank you for the feedback. I would like to give you short explication regarding tour duration.if you check my Pergamon and Asklepion tour description, you will see that as a meeting and tour ending point I give 2 towns, Kusadasi and Izmir, but there is one tour duration field, where it is written 10 hours. There is 3 hours driving from Kusadasi to Pergamon, but only 1 and half hour from Izmir to Pergamon, that's why your tour was shorter.

As an ex teacher, Ertunga is passionate about his interest in the history of his region. This was clearly demonstrated on this tour of Pergamon where not only did we visit the Acropolis and Asclepion, we also went to the Temple of Serapis and local museum. Local knowledge also helped with finding a fantastic place for lunch. Totally unrushed and professional and I learned a lot from Ertunga about the area.
