A great day with George ! An excellent guide and a very nice man. Thanks a lot for the tour, the very rich narrative about Pittsburgh and the Fallingwater house. We appreciate the bonus : the Pittsburgh panorama and the Simon and Garfunkel's song "America" (we are listening it just right now !). Mille mercis ! Elodie et Bernard
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for the feedback Elodie and Bernard...and for the opportunity for me to brush up on mon francais. So glad I had the chance to introduce you to Pittsburgh and the Laurel Highlands. Hopefully whenever you hear S&G you'll remember the 'Burgh. Warmest regards, GSTD
If you want to know the true Pittsburgh from an insider George is your guide! This walking encyclopedia on Pittsburgh's wonderful history kept our family of three (including our 12 year old son) entertained on our 1 hr journey for the city center to Fallingwater. George was punctual, friendly and accommodating.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for a fun day as well, Polly. I was especially glad your son enjoyed the Trip. What an unforgettable experience for him...as well as for me! My best, GSTD

George enhanced our trip immensely, going way beyond our expectations and the strict requirements of our itinerary. He is a living proof of why any trip is best enjoyed by contact with those who live in the area and are enthusiastic citizens who want to share their knowledge. We loved it! I had thought about rental and doing this myself but I am so glad I had more sense.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thank you for your comments. Given your extensive travel experience in the past they mean a lot to me. I'm glad you found Fallingwater "sensational". However, I should be the one thanking you and Ann for introducing me to the new (for me) genre of "Graphic Novels". What a great way to communicate! And yes, the binder was exactly where you said it was. Have a great rest of TrIp especially comparing Wright's Midwest work to what you saw over Bear Run. Very best regards, GSTD
We are over from Ireland and fallingwater was booked out so George took us on the most excellent and informative tour of Pittsburgh. His knowledge good humor and delivery is perfect from the best deli to history to geography and superb restaurant recommendations. George is the encyclopedia of Pittsburgh. We would recommend this tour to visitors as you will learn so much about the city and suburbs you will be informed and astonished. Thank you George from Johnny's Dan & Robby. Go Steelers.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: What can I say, Johnny? Not only did I have a blast with you and your buddies, but you came through and delivered one of the most exciting games in Heinz Field history. And I'm so glad I had a chance to set you straight about Henry Clay Frick. Thank you for the opportunity to build on your knowledge of Pittsburgh. It appears all of our communications back and forth worked out well for all four of us. Best regards to Dan and Robby. Happy Holidays. GSTD
George looked after us impeccably. His local knowledge and history information helped add to the enjoyment of our trip and we had the sense that nothing was too much bother. We were extremely grateful for his flexibility to plan our itinerary to fit with our other travel commitments and all the pre-travel communication gave us confidence that it would all go smoothly, and it did!
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: ...and it was a blast for me too! Thanks for letting me be the one to show you western Pennsylvania and Fallingwater. And thanks for sharing all of your Aussie knowledge with me.

We had a great day with George. He picked us up at 6:45AM at our downtown Pittsburgh hotel which allowed us to comfortably make our 8:30AM in depth tour at Falling Water. After inquiring about our interests and level of knowledge George kept up an enthusiastic and sometimes humorous monologue about the area, the Kaufmanns and Frank Lloyd Wright. He kept us enthralled and made the drive go quickly. After our tour we stopped for a nice lunch and kept up a lively discussion back to Pittsburgh.
TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: It was a great day being with you three as well. It was a special treat to be with someone who had been to "The hole in the wall" and from whom I learned a lot as well. Your neck of the woods does indeed sound like God's Country. Please pass along my regards to your wife and granddaughter. Thanks for choosing me as your guide to the Mountain.
We had booked the 8.45 am in-depth tour at Fallingwater. Despite the fact that the tour by George only gives 8.00 am as the earliest time, he was more than happy to pick us up at 6.30 am. He was highly informative about the history of the route to Fallingwater and about Fallingwater itself, which was a nice appetizer for the in-depth tour at the house. George was also very friendly and helpful generally. I would highly recommend him as your guide.
