Tour: #220807, 1-Day Vientiane Tour by Bike, Vientiane, Laos
Date: Feb 13/16

Nice buy, but I bought a bike tour and he showed up on a motorcycle - I had to ride on the back. He was not at ALL knowledgeable about detailed questions about WWII history, whether Vichy or Free France was in control, no mention of Japanese occupation. Wanted to cut tour short. Kept talking on his cell phone to friends and family during the tour. Pretty awful, quite frankly. And he tried to get more $$ out of me, saying what I'd paid on Tours By Locals didn't include the bike...

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: My apologies if you did not enjoy this bike tour. To be fair to me, it is clearly indicated in the booking form, your payment of USD60 is only for guide fee. Bike(gasoline),tax and tickets are extra cost. I did try to explain this to you and I am sorry you misunderstood. I am sorry for your experience. I will brush up on my history to prepare myself for detailed questions about WWII. Thank you for your feedback. Kind regards Chansay

TOURSBYLOCALS RESPONSE: Upon further investigation into the customers claims, the tour desc. and booking confirmation sent to the customer do clearly outline that Gasoline and Bike are extra costs. This was unfortunately overlooked by the customer. Due to a difference in cultural reference, the guide was unaware that labeling a tour a 'bike' tour could be taken as a 'bicycle' tour. He has updated the tour title to read 'Motor bike' to ensure proper expectations are set for future travelers.
