René enhanced our time in Amsterdam. There were 4 of us and he gave us a tour of the city and environs with historcal, cultural, and architectural perspectives. Then off to the country side for an unbeatable tour of polders, small towns, and most importantly the windmills. We would highly recommend Rene to any traveler.

Rene arrived on time and waited patiently while we got our little group together. He used a comfortable Chrysler sedan which was plenty of room for the 4 of us. We visited the Anne Frank House, where Rene took us to the front of a VERY long line for immediate entry. Then a visit to the Rijksmuseum where we had a very interesting albeit short tour given the size of the museum. After that a trip out of town through beautiful little villages, a windmill stop, a nice late lunch then back to the hotel. Do it!

Rene did an outstanding job for us as we saw a lot that most tourists don't see and got a great feel for normal life in Holland. He also gave us an excellent tour of the wind mills which was one of the most interesting tours of our trip. The only recommendation I have is when touring a museum he should keep the group together and give everyone all his knowledge versus letting everyone separate and him talking to small groups as he ran into them. Overall a 5-star tour.

Rene was terrific. He determined ahead of time that our ship would not dock at it's usual berth and he was at the alternate site right on time. His English is perfect, his car was pristine and he took us EVERYWHERE. We toured the Van Gogh museum, he drove us through the most charming small towns and showed us dikes and canals and farmland, I have never seen so many cows, we went through a windmill, had lunch at a quaint hotel restaurant, the tour was exactly what we hoped for. Highly recommend him.

Rene' was able to guide us thru the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum allowing us to view the highlights efficiently. He explained the art and its history and we enjoyed this very much. We requested a tour of the windmills in the countryside for the afternoon. That was a highlight for us as well. He was very knowledgable about the history and the actual engineering behind the windmills and we toured one on the inside. We had lunch at a very quaint restaurant in a fishing village. It was a wonderful tour.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks James, tell your friends. Kind regards, René

René knows Amsterdam well. His knowledge of the museums is quite amazing. And he is well known among the people in the museums and other places we went. We enjoyed our tour, but wish he had been more outgoing and friendly.

TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: This is the first time in many years that someone says that I am not outgoing and friendly. I was wondering why you booked a GUIDED tour in the Rijksmuseum and walk away while I am explaining everything about the Dutch masters.

Rene was so personal. He changed our tour to our liking and we had a great day. The countryside was beautiful, we even climbed to the top of a windmill with Rene. We saw great country houses and great villages that will stay in our memories forever.
